We've already done a digital-vs-analog comparison on the standard Pro inflators. This one is for the heavier-duty pair: the PRO L308 Analog Tire Inflator Gauge and PRO L309 Digital Tire Inflator Gauge shop-style inflators with dual-head chucks. They're built for the bay floor, the fleet yard, and the dually that just rolled in.
Same Pro-series engineering. Same dual-head chuck. Same 32-inch hose with full-length hose guards. Different gauges. Here's how to choose:
What They Share
Both run a die-cast aluminum body with rubber and ABS bumpers — built to take everyday shop life without breaking a sweat. Both ship with a 32-inch hybrid polymer hose; both with full-length spring guard bend restrictor. Both pair with our angled dual-head air chuck for inner and outer valve access on duals.
Both inflate, deflate, and measure. Both push 900 L/min at 174 PSI, work from 14°F to 122°F, and carry a one-year warranty. The difference shows up the moment you read the gauge.
Why the Dual-Head Chuck Matters
This is the feature that earns these inflators their place in a shop. The angled, chrome-plated dual-head chuck reaches inner duals, off-angle stems, and awkward valve positions a straight chuck can't get to. One tool, one connection, both tires.
Display and Readability
The L308 analog inflator reads off a linear analog gauge with a magnified viewing lens — the curved lens enlarges the number so it's easy to read at arm's length when your eyes are tired at 4 p.m. No screens. No batteries. No charging.
The L309 digital inflator runs a large backlit LCD with auto-on/auto-off. Touch the chuck to the valve, the display wakes up. Pull off and it sleeps. Two AAA batteries drive it (included), and replacing them is one screw — no proprietary cell, no charging cable to lose.
Power
Analog: nothing to manage, always ready. Digital: AAA batteries that last a long time, sleep when not in use, and swap out in thirty seconds with whatever's in the spare drawer.
Accuracy and Pressure Range
The L308 analog gauge reads to ±2 PSI across a 7–138 PSI range, with a 200 PSI max inlet. The L309 digital gauge reads to ±1 PSI across 7–174 PSI, with a 218 PSI max inlet. For truck and trailer tires, light commercial, agricultural equipment, and standard automotive work, the L308 analog gauge has plenty of headroom. If you regularly work higher-pressure assemblies, lean toward the L309 digital gauge.
When the L308 Analog Wins
•   Shops where the simplest tool is the most reliable tool
•   Service trucks and mobile rigs that don't want to think about batteries
•   Cold or wet outdoor work
•   Anyone who trusts a needle and likes the oil-damped, magnified readout
When the L309 Digital Wins
•   Low-light bays, undercarriage work, dim corners of a service rig
•   Operations that document tire pressures for compliance
•   Auto-on/auto-off workflow — pick it up, get a number, set it down
•   Anyone who wants the cleanest digital readout

The Bottom Line
The LNL65308 and LNL65309 are built for the same job, with the same dual-head chuck advantage on dual-wheel work. The real question is how you want to read the number — through a magnified analog lens that never asks for batteries, or a backlit LCD that turns itself on when you're ready to work.
Either way, you're getting a shop-grade tool built to live for years and years on the bay floor.
