HERE ARE SOME GREASING TIPS AND IDEAS TO TAKE THE FRICTION OUT OF GREASING:
- To ensure long seal life, avoid fittings that have been damaged and may have a small but sharp burr.
- Because this new coupler is a little bit longer than the standard coupler it may not reach some confined fittings. Sometimes this can be fixed by replacing the troublesome fitting with a 45 or 90 degree fitting. Or you can take the standard coupler that you replaced and thread a 45 or 90 onto it. Then clip the old coupler to the new coupler. Now you have a handy little adapter at no cost.
- When you need to remove the coupler from a pressurized fitting the coupler may be difficult to remove with just pressure from your thumb. To assist in depressing the thumb lever use some sort of pliers-like tool. It will take very little effort to release the coupler. Twisting, tugging and cranking on the coupler to release it will not work and there is a risk of damaging the seal especially if the fitting has some sort of sharp burr.
- When the coupler is new the sliding sleeve sometimes needs assistance to slide forward and lock onto the fitting. Just grip the sleeve and just push it forward.
